Port is protected by 2 breakwaters totally 1.100 m long
ANCHORAGE: Good anchorage off the harbour in a depth of 13 fathoms, sand and mud bottom.
PILOTAGE: Compulsory
TUGGING: Compulsory over 500 GRT
1 tug compulsory over 500 GRT, 2 tugs over 4000 GRT, 3 tugs available (up to 1200 HP)
WORKING HOURS: 0800-1600/1700-2300 (SHEX)
0800-1500 Saturday
1600-2300 Sunday
RATES: 350-500 mts/shift
EQUIPMENTS: 3 shore cranes of 5 to 15 T
BUNKER: By barge from Istanbul
LOA restriction for general cargo pier : 155 m
BERTHING:
a- Cargo Pier. Length 215 m (200m useful).Depth 4.6 - 9m. Connected to railways,
Two electrical cranes (5T, 15T)
b- Coal Pier, Length 510m. Depth 6.5 - 8.5m3) loading conveyors (cap. 300 - 350 mts/hrs each)
c- RO/RO Pier, Length 125m. Depth 7m. Two RO/RO vessels can berth simultaneously. (Stern to Pier). d- Passengers pier: Length 100m, Depth 6m
FLOATING CRAFTS: One floating electrical crane 25T, three tug boats 1200 hp / 800 hp / 650 hp, 1 dragger,
1 pilot boat 40 hp, 1 f.w. Barge (150 DWTCC)
FRESH WATER: Available, in. 30 t to be charged.
GARBAGE REMOVAL: Compulsory
WASTE OIL DISPOSAL: compulsory.
