DESCRIPTION OF THE PORT:MKS as a global manufacturer, is the
unique Pentaerythritol producer in Turkey and the Middle East. MKS
Marmara was established in 1976 in Istanbul where the head office is
situated and the plant with its modern facilities on a land of
105000 m˛, has been located on the coast of Marmara Sea at
Gemlik-Bursa.
RESTRICTIONS: Berthing in daylight and unberthing 24 hrs.
ANCHORAGE AREAS:for general cargo vessels Lat.40 26 40 N,
long. 29 07 12 E and for tanker Lat. 40 28 00 N , Long. 29 03 00 E.
(Information on best location of anchorage will be given by Pilot
station.)
PILOTAGE: is compulsory for berthing and unberthing and
anchoring, provided by the GEMPORT Pilot VHF channels 14, 71 or 16.
TOWAGE: and/or mooring boat compulsory arranged by pilot and
and provided by the GEMPORT.
CARGO HANDLED: Methanol, Formaldehyde (100.000 ton/year),
Formurea (75.000 ton/year), Urea formaldehyde resins (65.000 ton/year),
Melamine (1.500 tons/year), Pentaerythritol (17.000 tons/year),
Sodium formate (10.500 tons/year).
BERTH: Stern Fast, Draft 10 m. Underwater pipe line 680 m..
There are 2 buoys. Ships use both anchors from their bow.
OTHER INFORMATIONS: 36 m flexible hoses are joined to the
fore end of the underwater shore line. If vessel has not permanent
stern line, vessels to provide flexible hoses long enough from ships
manifold to stern and plus bout 10 m. long hoses for the distance
from stern to shore connection.
FRESH WATER: service is not available. Vessels at anchorage
can be supplied by barge only
BUNKER: service is not available.
AIRPORT: At Bursa distance apprx. 40km and 157km to Istanbul
Airport from the port.
WORKING HOURS: operates 24 hours a day year round.
GARBAGE REMOVAL: service is not available.
