    DESCRIPTION OF PORT: Isdemir is a small harbour built especially for the steelworks. The later was built in mid 70's and gives the impression of being in the last stages of decay.
    ANCHORAGES: Safe anchorage South of a line due West of South breakwater light (green) and least one mile from the breakwater.
    RESTRICTION: The harbour entrance to be about 17 m. deep to within 70m. of the north breakwater and to within about 30m. of the south breakwater Max. draft is 16m. and the turning circle available at this draft is about 500m. diameter. Large vessels (over 100,000 d.w.t.) and tankers are not allowed to enter during hours of darkness.
    If vessel arrives with over 100,000 tones cargo or 16.0 m. draft a fourth tug is provided from Botas/Ceyhan or Iskenderun Port (TCDD)
    CARGO HANDLING FACILITIES : 6 forklifts between 3-10 tons, Mobile cranes 6- 90 tons.
    STORAGE FACILITIES: Open storage: 150.000 sqm. Cowered storage: 10.500 sqm.
    LOADING/DISCHARING RATES: Coal: 16.000 tons/day. Ore: 20.000 tons/day. Pig iron: 1.500 tons/day. Timber 4.000 tons/day, Pig iron: 1.500-2.000 tons/day. General cargo: 800-1.000 tons/day. Bagged cargo: 600-700 tons/day.
    WORKING HOURS/SHIFTS: 24 hours
    First Shift: 08.00-16.30.
    Second Shift: 16.30-00.30.
    Third shift: 00.30-08.00 (In case of demand for overtime)
    FRESH WATER: available alongside at 15 tons/hour.
    BUNKERS: Available by road tankers though private suppliers.
    AIRPORT: At Adana .Approximately 120 km from the port.
    GARBAGE DISPOSAL: service available.
    WASTE OIL DISPOSAL: collection service is available. A waste oil refining station has been installed near the fuel tanks of the steel works and trucks are used to transport waste oil from ship to the oil station.
    BALLAST: There are no storage facilities for dirty ballast.
    NATURE OF SEA BOTTOM: Sand and mud.
    BERTHING: Priority berthing for vessels discharging or loading cargoes for the factory.
