    DESCRIPTION OF THE PORT: Bandirma is situated on Souther side of Marmara Sea about 63 miles from Istanbul. The port is protected two breakwaters 500 m and 1.000 m long protect Port. Entrance width is 255 m.
    MAIN ACTIVITY: Import; bulk phosphate and sulphur, phosphoric acid, ammonia, fertilizer. Export; Various ores and acids, marble, grain, canned foods, flour and domestic appliances.
    ANCHORAGE AREAS: Good anchorage in roads about 370m. off entrance to harbour in depths up to 12.8m.There are also suitable anchorages within the breakwater area." (Information on best location of anchorage will be given by Pilot station)
    PILOTAGE: is compulsory for berthing and unberthing provided by the TCDD Pilot(Turkish Railway Admistration).VHF channels 12,13,14 and 16.
    TOWAGE: and/or mooring boat compulsory arranged by pilot and provided by the Port Administration.
    3 tugs available.
    BERTHING: The berth where dry cargo, general cargo abd liquid cargo (except fuel products) which are region's export-import goods are being handled.

    CARGO HANDLING EQUIPMENTS: There are 15 Shore Cranes with capacity 5-35 tons, 6 Mobil Cranes with capacity 10-25 tons, 3 crawler Mobil cranes with capacity 27 tons,14 forklifts with capacity 2-5 tons, 1 container forklift of 42 tons, 5 towing tractors, 3 loaders, 8 pneumatic loader of 50t.p.h. - 160 t.p.h. and 2 weighbridge of 100 tons capacity.(one for wagon and the other for trucks)
    RO-RO SERVICE: between Bandirma and Tekirdag ports by July 05, 2001. The purpose of this service; "decrease in TIR and trucks traffic of Trakya and South Marmara Region
    CARGO HANDLING RATE: Ore loading capacity 800 tons/shift/gang, Bagged cargo loading rates 140 tons/shift/gang, bulk cargo 500 tons/shift/hatch.
    STORAGE: Open storage area of 150.000 sq.m. and covered storage area of 9.000 sq.m. Grain silo capacity of 20.000 tons.
    FRESH WATER: available at berths.
    BUNKER: service is available by truck or by barge at anchorage.
    AIRPORT: At Istanbul distance apprx.350 km and at Izmir distance apprx. 280 km from the port.
    WORKING HOURS: operates 24 hours a day year round, (First shift 08.00-16.30,Second shift 16.30-00.30, third shift 00.30-08.00)
    GARBAGE REMOVAL: service is available all berths.
    WASTE OIL DISPOSAL: service is available. An oily water separator system of 15.000 cu.m./year is also available.
